Wheels up for South Australian Export Accelerator program

06 Jul 2020
The latest round of the South Australia Export Accelerator (SAEA) program lifted off, focusing on South Australian companies that need air-freight support to get products to overseas markets.

COVID-19 has seen massive disruption for exporters including decreased and fluctuating consumer demand, border restrictions, reduced air freight availability, increased freight costs and supply chain challenges. Adaptation and business planning are critical in weathering this storm and coming out the other side with sustainable exports.

Whilst a range of activities are eligible for funding through SAEA, previous rounds saw the largest demand associated with costs incurred around attending international trade events, travel and accommodation.

Round Seven of the SAEA, will prioritise funding under the existing eligible categories of ‘Export Training and Consulting’ and ‘Market Research’. This could include costs for export-focused mentoring, coaching and export plan development, including special attention to supply chain and logistics. Other previously eligible categories remain eligible, as will the SAEA’s standard 1:1 matched funding basis.
