South Australian gaming studios PAX a punch
Two South Australian gaming companies have been selected by industry veterans to showcase their games as part of the PAX Aus Indie Showcase 2022 which highlight the best of the Australian and New Zealand independent gaming development scene.
Box Knight by We Made a Thing Studios and Rooftop Renegade by Melonhead Games will be showcased alongside another eight winners, presented by GamesHub.com.
We Made a Thing Studios’ Box Knight game is a mix of ‘the Office’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ and recently featured on the Australian stand at Gamescom in Germany, the world’s largest games trade fair.
“We Made a Thing is incredibly humbled and excited to be selected and representing South Australia as part of the exclusive Indie Games Showcase at PAX in 2022,” said Tom Phillips, Founder, We Made a Thing Studios.
“As a team we are incredibly proud about showcasing our game in front of the eager PAX goers and really keen to put the game and product we've worked so hard on, into the hands of potential players and wider industry audience.”
Melonhead Games’ Rooftop Renegade puts the gamer in the chrono-kicks of Svetlana, a hover blading outlaw with the ability to portal through time.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be presenting Rooftop Renegade as part of the prestigious PAX Aus Indie Showcase,” said Patrick Webb, Founder Melonhead Games.
“Since our last time at PAX Aus in 2019, the game has come a huge way and to have been awarded a place among the other five outstanding games is incredibly exciting for us right before our planned launch on PC, Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo Switch in early 2023.”
