A taste of China at the Royal Adelaide Show
For the first time since 2019, the Royal Adelaide Show featured 10 Chinese businesses from Shandong Province who exhibited their products as part of a Shandong Pavilion.
Shandong is South Australia’s sister-state and is the longest standing and most comprehensive sister-state for South Australia, established in 1986. From 2015 to 2019, the South Australian Government, in collaboration with the Shandong Government, has supported Shandong businesses to exhibit at the Royal Adelaide Show. This year’s exhibition was the first year Shandong has been involved since before COVID.
The exhibition featured 10 Shandong businesses, including:
- Shandong Society for Agricultural Machinery – specialising in academic exchanges, scientific and technological consultation and technical services
- Shandong Dr Sunshine Solar Energy Project Co Ltd – a global provider of comprehensive intelligent solutions for new energy systems
- TELD New Energy Co Ltd – creating an innovative industrial internet integrating EV charging network, microgrid, energy storage network and data network
- Dongying Roadstar Tyre Co Ltd – exporting farm truck and passenger vehicle tyres
- Linqu Yuxin Iron Made Co Ltd – professional fence manufacturer
- Rizhao Biz Great Co Ltd – specialising in hay, cargo, sports and safety nets
- Wei fang Regal Industrial Co Ltd – manufacturer of recyclable and biodegradable plastic products
- Linyi Yiyuan Food Co Ltd – processing and sales of dehydrated vegetable products
- Weifang Qili Trade Co Ltd – customising agricultural workwear and various textile clothing
- Shandong WenZheng Technology Co Ltd – agricultural and farming workwear, fashion, uniforms, medical uniforms and children’s clothing.
“Shandong Business Office in Oceania, based in Adelaide, was established by Shandong Provincial Government with the mission to promote and facilitate bilateral trade and investment cooperation,” said Chief Representative, Wang Shenjun. “With great support from the South Australian Government and Shandong Provincial Government, the delegation from Shandong, which is organised by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, will consist of companies in the fields of new and clean energy, food safety, agricultural machinery, education and training and we welcome South Australian retailers and wholesalers to visit the Shandong Pavilion during the Royal Adelaide Show.”
China is South Australia’s largest two-way trading partner with merchandise exports reaching a record high of $4.23 billion to July 2024, up 48 per cent on the previous year.
The Shandong delegation was supported by the South Australian Government and the Shandong Provincial Government, with further support from the Shandong Business Office Oceania, based in Adelaide.
