The first time since 2011, South Australia’s international student enrolments have exceeded the national growth rate, 11.4 per cent to 11.1 per cent, with the state attracting nearly 30,400 enrolments in the first three months of 2019*.
A breakdown of enrolments saw 63 per cent in the higher education sector, and just over 16 per cent in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
South Australia’s school sector is also on the rise, growing by 1.5 per cent, while at the national level, the school sector’s enrolments declined by 2.1 per cent, giving the state’s school sector a bigger share (11 per cent) of total international school student enrolments in Australia.
