South Australia's Shanghai Trade and Investment office has celebrated its first anniversary, strengthening and building new opportunities for South Australian exporters.
During the first 12 months, the office supported 78 South Australian companies in their outbound visits to China and another 22 local South Australian exporters with training, mentoring and advice in accessing the Chinese market.
This is reflected in the latest trade data which shows in the 12 months to August 2019, South Australia’s merchandise exports to China reached $2.7 billion, which was an increase of 6.9% on the previous 12 months.
Wine is one of the state’s key exports to China and in the last financial year reached $803 million, which was a 10.9 per cent increase on the previous year.
